The PPT Difference

Built differently. Run differently. Felt differently.

Most physical therapy in this country is now owned by private equity. Performance PT is independent and has been since 2004. Here is what that means in practice.

The owner is your therapist.

Shane Bryant has been treating patients personally for 22 years. You do not get handed off to a tech or rotated through three different therapists. You get the founder.

Manual therapy, not assembly-line PT.

We specialize in hands-on manual therapy backed by movement and strength work. Real clinical work every visit, not 10 minutes of talking and a worksheet of exercises.

We treat the whole you.

Pain in your knee usually starts somewhere else. We assess movement, posture, and habit, not just the injury site. The result is recovery that lasts.

From the Founder

I started this clinic in 2004 because I could not find one I would send my own family to.

Most physical therapy in this country is now owned by private equity. The owner of a corporate PT chain is a hedge fund. The therapist who treats you on Tuesday is not the same one who will be there Thursday. Sessions get cut to fit insurance billing. The patient becomes a unit.

Performance PT is the opposite. We are independent. I see every patient. We schedule sessions long enough to actually treat the issue, not just to satisfy a billing code. We charge what good work costs and we do good work.

Twenty-two years in, the same hands, the same approach, the same standard. That is the practice.

Patient Stories

Real outcomes from real people.

Mark D. · 52 · Post-knee-replacement

"After two failed surgeries, Shane figured out in one visit what nobody else had."

I had been to three other PT places after my second knee replacement. Sixty-day max. Never the same therapist twice. PPT was different from minute one. Shane spent 90 minutes the first day. By week six I was back on my road bike.

Elena G. · 34 · Marathon runner

"I came in with hip pain. I left with a body that does not break."

My PT for years was rest and ice. Shane gave me a real diagnosis on visit one and a real plan by visit three. Eight weeks later I PRed at Boston. I send every runner I know.

Elena

James R. · 67 · Chronic low back pain

"Twenty years of back pain. Six visits to feel like myself again."

I had given up. Surgery was not an option. A friend dragged me to PPT. The first session was the most thorough exam I have had from any clinician in any field. Six visits in I cancelled my pain management appointment.

Your First Visit

What happens when you book.

01

Book and verify.

Call or book online. We will verify your insurance and confirm coverage before your first visit, no surprises.

02

60-minute initial assessment.

Your first session is a full hour. We assess your movement, your history, and the underlying mechanics. Then we build the plan.

03

Treatment from visit one.

You do not pay for an exam and leave empty-handed. You start treatment the same day, and you walk out with a clear path forward.

Coverage

We accept most major insurance, and we will verify yours before your first visit.

Insurance is the most common question we hear before someone books. The honest answer is that we accept most major plans. We also have flat-rate cash options for patients without coverage or with out-of-network plans. Either way, we verify everything before your first visit so you know exactly what you will pay.

  • Aetna
  • Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Cigna
  • Humana
  • Medicare
  • UnitedHealthcare
  • Tricare
  • Kaiser (out-of-network)
